The 2021 inaugural concert from Bach in the Dark cellist Rachel Scott, features a new collaborator, flautist Rosie Gallagher.
Originally from Sydney, Rosie has returned here after studying at the Julliard School in New York and the Royal Academy in London. She has performed with groups that include the 21c Festival of Contemporary Music, Yellowbarn Music Festival, Heartbeat Opera, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and Ensemble Connect, resident at the Carnegie Hall.
Exploring Rachel’s aim of “an unconventional classical concert concept celebrating the music of J.S. Bach and beyond,” they will be playing some of JS Bach’s Inventions, the Flute Sonata in E minor, a piece for cello and loop pedal, and Villa-Lobos’ fabulous duet ‘The Jet Whistle’. There’ll be a few other things there too – something for everyone!
Ticket sales stop at 4.30 on the day of the concert. The link will also be live for a few days, if you are out or live in a different time-zone.
At 5pm (or soon after), you’ll be sent a youtube link to the concert that you need to click on before 7pm. If you haven’t got the link by 5.30, please email Bach in the Dark <firstname.lastname@example.org> us so we can send it to you directly. When you click on it just before the concert, you’ll see my back room. Pour yourself a glass of something and relax.
