DESCRIPTION:Musica Viva Australia presents a trio of Australia’s finest chamber musicians\, pianist Auro Go\, cellist Timo-Veikko (Tipi) Valve and virtuoso violinist Kristian Winther in their debut national tour\, Beethoven’s Ghost\, opening in Newcastle on Tuesday 5 May and concluding in Perth on Thursday 14 May. \nArtistic Director Paul Kildea is delighted to bring together three champions of chamber music performing the world premiere of a new work by Australian composer Melody Eötvös. \nFollowing a debut outing at the UKARIA Cultural Centre in 2025\, this piano trio presents two cornerstones of the repertoire; Beethoven’s thrilling ‘Ghost’ Trio\, an imaginative drama pitting heroic bravura alongside spooky beauty\, and Ravel’s tempestuous Piano Trio\, a profound response to the First World War. \nAlso featured is the world premiere of Regnare by Australian composer Melody Eötvös which takes as its inspiration the life-cycles of the Victorian/Mountain Ash tree\, Eucalyptus. \nAustralian pianist\, storyteller and FutureMaker alumna Aura Go as performed as a soloist with the Melbourne\, Adelaide and Queensland Symphony Orchestras and Finland’s Tapiola Sinfonietta. \nTogether with long-term musical collaborator\, Principal Cello of the Australian Chamber Orchestra Timo-Veikko (Tipi) Valve\, Go has toured both nationally and internationally to Finland. In 2024\, the duo’s recording of Beethoven’s complete cello sonatas for ABC Classic debuted to critical acclaim.ve\, \nRounding out the triumvirate is virtuoso Australian violinist and Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s 2025 Artist-in-Residence Kristian Winther. A devoted chamber musician and violinist in the Alma Moodie String Quartet\, Winther has appeared as a soloist with the Sydney\, Melbourne\, Queensland\, Christchurch and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras and has toured extensively with Go. \nMelody Eötvös is a composer in the realms of traditional instrumental music as well as electro-acoustic sound art. She communicates mystery\, adventure\, and versatility within deeply sophisticated ideas in musical craft\, drawing from human experiences and documented discoveries. SUMMARY:Italian Pianist In Concert
DESCRIPTION:Italian pianist Andrea Molteni returns to Australia for a series of recitals in Perth\, Melbourne\, Sydney\, Canberra and Brisbane. Alongside a program of well-known classics\, Molteni will perform a contemporary Italian work Toccata\, (1933) by Goffredo Petrassi. \nThe exciting 27-year old is building  inhisternational profile with regular appearances in the US\, Australiasia and Europe. He has recorded three albums\, recently released on Brilliant Classics and broadcast on France Musique\, Germany’s MDR Kultur and Radio Classica in Italy. They include the complete piano works of Petrassi and Dallapiccola\, a selection of Scarlatti sonatas\, and Beethoven’s Hammerklavier\, Op. 110 and The Grosse Fuge. Aged 15\, Mr. Molteni received a scholarship of Cercle Wagner Association in France\, which allowed him to participate at the Bayreuth Festival celebrating the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner\, as well as to perform a series of concerts in France.
