Musica Viva is launching Musica Viva Sessions, a series of concerts in unusual settings.

Along with the Royal Botanic Gardens of  Sydney, Musica Viva invites you to challenge convention in this inaugural concert.

Discover chamber music through a close-up acoustic collaboration between two of Australia’s most exciting classical music artists, Kerryn Joyce and Kirsty McCahon as you take a glimpse ‘backstage’ at the National Herbarium of NSW.

Kerryn Joyce (TaikOz, Karak) brings a rich variety of instrumental skills – including her speciality of Japanese Taiko drumming – to contrast with the double bass and violone of Kirsty McCahon (Australian World Orchestra, Van Diemen’s Band). Kerryn and Kirsty perform art music pieces they love, from 17th-century Scotland and the tranquillity of Japan, to jazzy, busy city USA, and an Australian beach..

Tickets: $35 (includes complimentary drink on arrival)
Tickets: musicaviva.com.au/sessions
