Soprano Nadia Piave’s Caffe d’Amore performs Love Songs…madrigals and chansons d’amour for the new year.
Joined by guitarist Gino Pengue, the duo bring what we can all always have a little more of: just plain lovely, silly, schmaltzy, gorgeous love songs.
The programme features songs from Nadia’s Rose, Caffe d’Amore and Cinema CDs, with music by Brel, Rota, Monteverdi, Legrenzi, Ferre, Modugno, Trenet, Sermisy, Rogers and Hart and more…
Nadia Piave performs repertoire that spans four centuries; from renaissance and baroque madrigals to neapolitan serenades and cafe chansons of the 1940s, from Italian evergreens and folk tunes to tango baladas and Mediterranean world music. Versatile and vibrant Nadia embraces music from Monteverdi to Mambo with all the passion and good taste of her Italian heritage. In this program they get back to basics – love!
