NSW Doctors’ Orchestra 10th Anniversary Features Kats-Chernin And Tedeschi

In 2013, Sydney Eisteddfod will be celebrating its 80th Anniversary with a¬†comprehensive program for¬†emerging young talents. In conjunction with the Sydney Eisteddfod and under the banner of Musicus Medicus, the NSW Doctors’ Orchestra will celebrate its 10th Anniversary with a fundraising concert which they’ve called Highlights of a Decade.

Conducted by Dr David Banney, the program will include Dvorak’s 8th Symphony and the world premier of Overture, a new work by composer Elena Kats-Chernin. Pianist Simon Tedeschi will feature as guest artist playing Grieg’s Piano Concerto.

The NSW Doctors Orchestra is a classical orchestra of doctors and medical students from all areas of NSW who come together at least annually to play in aid of charities in both the arts and medicine. Proceeds from this event will be shared by the Sydney Eisteddfod and the Schizophrenia Fellowship of NSW.
