The second concert series of Selby & Friends’ 10th anniversary season in April is entitled Just ‘C’ and features dynamic performances in an intimate and friendly setting.

The Australian virtuoso pianist and entrepreneur, Kathryn Selby AM is joined by cellist Clancy Newman and violinist Susie Park in this programme themed around the letter ‘C’, exploring piano trios by Copland, Brahms, Shostakovich and Mendelssohn – all composed in the key of C major or C minor.

Violinist Susie Park has performed as a soloist with some of the most revered orchestras in the world, including the Vienna, Royal Philharmonic and Pittsburgh Symphonies. She has served as Concertmaster of the Curtis Symphony and the New York String Orchestra in Carnegie Hall.

American-born Clancy Newman is a winner of the Walter W. Naumberg International Competition, receiving the Avery Fisher Career Grant and graduating from both Julliard and Columbia University. A sought after chamber musician, Newman is a member of the Chicago Chamber Musicians and is also a former member of Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Two.

Kathryn Selby, Australia’s pre-eminent chamber music pianist has a string of international and Australian performance awards. As the Artistic Director of the company that is marking 10 years of successfully creating artistically acclaimed musical collaborations, she says “A decade is a significant milestone for an artistic venture in Australia. Selby & Friends was born out of my love for chamber music and my experience collaborating with many brilliant Australian and international guest artists, so it is fitting that in 2016 we celebrate that decade by sharing extraordinary musical talent with Australians.”
