song of somngsThe rich, erotic poetry of The Song of Solomon has inspired composers throughout the ages to write music of great beauty. In a programme of music for choir and organ spanning over 500 years The Choir of St James’ directed by Warren Trevelyan-Jones with organist with Alistair Nelson explores the ravishing repertoire that has been set to these sensuous texts. The programme includes music by Clemens, Victoria, Dupré and Casals and a world premiere performance of Nigra sum by UK composer Francis Pott.
