Sydney Opera Society – Luise Napier: 35 Years On The Opera Stage

The Sydney opera Society presents Luise Napier – An Unexpected Career – 35 Years on the Opera Stage.

Sydney Opera lovers will have frequently have seen Luise Napier on stage, either in the chorus or as a Principal of Opera Australia. In recent years, you will have seen productions she has directed in her later career as Resident Director. 

From her first appearance on the professional stage in Sydney in Funny Girl and Fiddler on the Roof to her roles as Assistant Director and Revival Director of more than 50 operas, Luise has also sung on stages in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, NZ, Canada and London.  She has  been Director for Opera North’s production of Rusalka and she was a Member of the Music Board at Opera Foundation where she adjudicated and conducted workshops. 

She was also assistant to and Artistic Director of Pacific Opera and directed Opera in the Domain.
