Yale Concert Band Tours Australia With An Australian Premiere By Grainger

Yale Concert Band 2018

The Yale Concert Band will tour Australia for the first time in its 100-year history with concerts in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle. The band is renowned across the USA having performed at Carnegie Hall, in London’s Royal Albert Hall, and many tours across Europe. Consisting of 55 brass, woodwind, keyboard and percussion players, the band’s repertoire is varied, from John Philip Sousa’s rousing band music to chamber and ensemble works.

On this tour they will premiere a reconstruction of the last composed unfinished piece by Percy Grainger. This reconstruction has never before been performed in concert in Australia.

Joining the band on this concert tour will be The Royal Australian Navy Band Melbourne, the Band of the Royal Military College, and the Sydney Wind Ensemble.
