The Metropolitan Orchestra Plays Classical Blockbusters In Parramatta

The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) returns to the stage for its debut performance at Parramatta’s Riverside Theatre with The Classical Blockbusters celebrating the resumption of live music to the stage after the long Sydney lockdowns.
In this exciting gala event to be hosted by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams, the orchestra will present an appealing mix of famous and much-loved classical works including musical highlights from major movies. On the program will be two famous pieces by composer John Williams featured in Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster movies Superman and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The concert will also spotlight two sparkling soloist works for the violin and clarinet with a full orchestra. Other well-known pieces include Elgar’s famous Nimrod from Enigma Variations which has featured in the movie Dunkirk, Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, Bizet’s popular Carmen Suite, and selected movements from Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker Suite.
