Luminescence Chamber Singers On Tour With ‘Ave Regina: God, Be With The Mother’
April 10, 2022 @ 5:00 pm
Luminescence Chamber Singers presents Ave Regina: God, be with the mother. Central to the theme of the concert is the figure of Mother Mary, who has long been the ultimate image of maternal sacrifice and perfect motherhood – purity, selflessness, and service. The Canberra-based five-voice ensemble is joining forces with conductor Roland Peelman and electric guitarist Jess Green to explore the many meanings of motherhood through the music of Guillaume Dufay, Jacob Obrecht, and Pierre de la Rue as well as contemporary composers Alice Chance, Andrew Ford, Gabriel Jackson, and the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Jess Green.
