Francis Greep Leaves The Song Company For Opera Australia
After five years as Executive Director of The Song Company, Francis Greep, will be moving on to a new role at Opera Australia, building and leading its new Young Artist Program.
Previously known as The Moffatt Oxenbould Young Artist Program in honour of the retired Artistic Director Moffatt Oxenbould, the program has nurtured the talents of singers like Anna-Louise Cole, Nicole Car, Samuel Dundas, Nicholas Jones and Shanul Sharma.
A statement from the board of The Song Company says “During his tenure with The Song Company, Francis has been instrumental in guiding The Song Company through some of its most challenging times and played a pivotal role in transforming the organisation into the artist-led model we are so proud of today. His hard work, dedication, and visionary leadership have left an indelible mark on the company.”
Francis says, “It’s bittersweet to be leaving The Song Company. I will miss my incredible colleagues hugely. But I am excited for its future under the expert guidance of Co-Artistic Directors Amy Moore and Jessica O’Donoghue, for whom I have the utmost
respect and admiration. I will miss their collaborative spirit, knowledge, and experience. I hope I can emulate this in my new role. A huge thank you to the Board of the company, led by Chair Natalie Mina, for the amazing support they have given me over the past five years.”
