A little lunch music
Looking for shelter from Sydney’s winter winds at lunchtime this Tuesday June 12th, you could seek out winds of a far more pleasurable sort at the The City Recital Hall’s lunchtime concert.
For this concert, pianist and anchor of the series Kathryn Selby teams up with the New Sydney Wind Quintet to present the music of Jacques Ibert, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Jean Franҫaix.
Formed in 2004, the New Sydney Wind Quintet comprises flautist Bridget Bolliger, oboist Alexandre Oguey, clarinettist Francesco Celata, bassoonist Andrew Barnes and horn player, Euan Harvy, each of them well known from their roles as performers with the Sydney Symphony, with overseas orchestras and ensembles, or as teachers at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
They are already recognised as the nation’s leading wind quintet and perform throughout Australia and Asia, making regular appearances for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Musica Viva Australia. in 2010 they released their first CD “Quintopia”.
