Acacia Quartet Play Mozart With Jane Rutter
The Acacia Quartet will join flautist and Live at Lunch Artistic Director, Jane Rutter for Mozart Quartets, an intimate lunchtime concert featuring Flute Quartets and the String Quartet in D Minor.
Founded in 2010, Acacia Quartet, comprising violinists Lisa Stewart and Myee Clohessy, violist Stefan Duwe and cellist Anna Martin-Scrase, quickly won respect for their versatile and inventive programs which couple established repertoire with the new. In 2013, Acacia was nominated for both an ARIA Award and an Art Music Award and their performances feature regularly on ABC Classic FM, Fine Music 102.5 and Qantas In-flight Entertainment.
“Mozart claimed to have disliked the flute, but his sublime Flute Quartets prove to the contrary,” said Artistic Director, Jane Rutter. “The music is so unbelievably rich, with a sparkling vivacity and elegance – Mozart’s writing for the flute is pure magic,” she said.
