Andrew Chubb Performs Four Decades of Music by Glass
Andrew Chubb, the pioneering exponent of the music of Philip Glass, will celebrate the composer’s 80th birthday year with Philip Glass @ 80, a diverse range of piano works spanning 40 years, including selections from Einstein on the Beach, Etudes, The Hours, Glassworks and Metamorphosis.
The concert is part of the popular Spring Series at the Independent Theatre in North Sydney and includes cakes and refreshments at interval.
Andrew Chubb is an Australian pianist, composer and teacher noted for his acclaimed performances of Philip Glass’s piano music in Australia. In 2003, he performed Glassworks at the Newcastle Conservatorium. Since then, he has given numerous all-Glass recitals at various cities in Australia and during recital tours to Canada in 2008 and 2013. His interest in promoting contemporary repertoire has included Australian premiere performances of compositions by Hans Otte, Heins Chur and Andrew Shapiro.
