Bach in the Dark Livestream
Rachel Scott’s Bach in the Dark concert series continues its nationally and internationally successful live stream. Rachel Scott, founding artistic director will be joined by percussionist Ben Sibson for a concert with a difference. Ben will be playing vibraphone and adding hand-drums to Renaissance dances and Bach’s third cello suite.
Rachel says: “I am realising more and more – not just from performing, but also the teaching I’m doing at the moment – just how powerful music is. It can lift us up, make us smile, cocoon us and gently soothe. It is so vitally important – especially in these times of strangeness and uncertainty.”
To purchase tickets:
Please visit Humanitix (https://events.humanitix.com/bitd_perc) for ticket purchases at $7.50. If you’d like to give a little more, then that would be really welcome, as it’s a hard time for artists right now.
At 5pm, you’ll be sent a You Tube link to the concert that you need to click on before 7pm. If you haven’t received the link 5.30, please email [email protected] and they will send you the link directly. When you click on the link, you’ll see the back room with the Bach in the Dark sign on it. You’ve arrived! Pour yourself a glass of wine.
The best listening experience will be to listen through speakers, or headphones – but listen in any way you want to. Please bear in mind that this isn’t broadcast quality –there may be some glitches that will be out of the performers’ control. But they will be doing their best.
At 7pm, or shortly thereafter, the concert should begin. Have another glass of wine. Sit and be in the moment. Hopefully you can forget all the craziness, just for a short time.
Please spread the word if you know others who’d like to join in the music-making – this venue won’t sell out!
