Beethoven Symphonies On Deutsche Grammophon With Andris Nelsons Conducting the Vienna Philharmonic
Released last week on the Deutsche Grammophon label, Andris Nelsons, the leading conductor of his generation, takes on a full cycle of Beethoven’s eternal symphonies – directing the Vienna Philharmonic in a series of new recordings made at the historic Vienna Musikverein. These will be released in a deluxe boxed set on 5 CDs, featuring a Blu-ray Audio with the complete repertoire in True HD sound quality.
Between 2016 and 2019, Andris Nelsons won three Grammy awards for his acclaimed Shostakovich cycle, another pinnacle of the symphonic repertoire that has catapulted him to the forefront of his profession..
Now he is committing himself to Beethoven for a full year, following this recording with an expansive European tour that will include full Beethoven cycles in Paris (February 2020), Hamburg and Munich (March 2020), Vienna (May-June 2020) .
