Soprano Nadia Piave celebrates the songs and music of Victor Jara, Violetta Para, Horacio Salinas, Alberto Ginastera, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Mercedes Sosa, Astor Piazzolla and Manuel De Falla in Cancionero Iberico 2017 Una nueva cancion! A new song! A show which remembers the momentous events in Chile on September 11, 1973.
In this concert, Nadia is joined by her colleague Gino Pengue and Robert Clancy on guitars, flautist Tina Marsden and Pino Scuro as recitante with Special Guest Daniel Rojas vocals.
In 2016 Nadia held her first Cancionero Iberico concert, Gracias a la Vida, with guitarists Gino Pengue and Robert Clancy, flautist Tina Marsden and narrator Pino Scuro. An homage to the songs of the great Chilean songwriter Victor Jara, Nadia and friends, with Special Guest Daniel Rojas, return to Django to celebrate once more. Una Nueva Cancion! celebrates the music of Spanish, Argentinian and Brazilian composers, as well as the songs of the heroes of the ‘nueva cancion’ cultural movement of 1960s and 70s Chile.
