Coastal A Cappella Wins Short + Sweet Voices Festival
After hotly contested preliminary rounds involving almost 30 a cappella (unaccompanied) choirs, ten choirs entered the finals of the Short + Sweet Voices Festival held at the Concourse Theatre, Chatswood, last weekend.
Performing in every sort of musical genre and style and in ensembles of all sizes, from quartets to more than 50 singers, the contesting choirs had a strict ten-minute limit imposed on their performances, just like other Short+Sweet festivals – dance, theatre, cabaret . Similarly, they were judged not only by industry experts but by audience vote as well.
