Renowned for her flair and interpretations of Mozart, Andrea Lam will perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.22 in Andrea Lam Performs Mozart in two Sydney concerts.
The Piano Concerto No.22 in E♭ major, K. 482 is one of the most popular of his 27 piano concerti. Led by Principal Conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Johannes Fritzsch, audiences will also have the chance to enjoy Schumann’s spirited Symphony No. 3 in E♭ major, Op. 97, Rhenish and the world premiere of Elena Kats-Chernin’s 50 Fanfares Commission, Momentum.
Australian pianist Andrea Lam made her orchestral debut with the Sydney Symphony when she was just 13 years old. Since then, she has performed with orchestras and leading conductors in Australasia, Japan, China, and the United States. From New York’s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre to the Sydney Opera House, she has played as part of Sydney Festival, Orford Festival (Canada), and Chelsea Music Festival (USA). She was a Semi-finalist in the 2009 Van Cliburn Competition, Silver Medallist in the 2009 San Antonio Piano Competition, the winner of the ABC’s ‘Young Performer of the Year’ Award in the Keyboard section, as well as the Yale Woolsey Hall
competition.
