Castalia Vocal Consort presents Passions and Prayers

Castalia Vocal Consort presents Passions and Prayers, a concert which includes a rare performance of Wolfgang Rihm’s remarkable Sieben Passions-texte in its Australian premiere, paired with works by with Francis Poulenc, James Macmillan, Hildegard von Bingen, Abbie Betinis, William Mundy, and Australian composer David Yardley, amongst others. Castalia Vocal Consort is a new Sydney vocal ensemble, passionate about the expressive possibilities of a cappella singing.

Performed in the magnificent and intimate surrounds of Christchurch St Laurence, this concert promises to be a extraordinary evening of music, from the intensely impassioned to the sublimely contemplative.
