Flowers and Romance From Willoughby Symphony and Pacific Opera

Willoughby Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Chief Conductor Guy Noble in a gala concert themed around romance and flowers for Valentine’s Day.

The concert features the incredible talents of Pacific Opera’s rising stars. The programme includes Delibes’ Flower Duet from Lakme,  Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker, music of passion from Bizet’s Carmen, the yearning of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, the joy of Strauss’s Presentation of the Rose and the gentle peace of the Evening Prayer from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.

A central highlight of the concert is a beautiful new work by Willoughby Symphony Orchestra’s composer-in-residence, Alice Chance.
