Melbourne Digital Concert Hall Broadcasts Camerata- Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra This Weekend

Melbourne Digital Concert Hall teams up with Camerata- Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, for an impromptu livestreamed broadcast from the Queensland Performing Arts Centre this weekend.
Camerata Re-Mastered will feature Beethoven’s Grand Fugue, Turina’s Bullfighter’s Prayer, Steve Reich’s Duet, and the world premiere of Beyond the Front Door by Queensland Composer, John Rotar. The ensemble will also showcase the 2021 composition Little Corellas by Camerata’s founding leader, Cameron Patrick, as well as Betty Beath’s Woman’s Song and Samuel Barber’s beautiful Adagio for Strings.Featuring Camerata’s Ensemble-in-Residence, the Orava Quartet, the concert will close with Edward Elgar’s Introduction and Allegro for String Quartet and String Orchestra.
For MDCH, this concert marks the beginning of an impromptu national showcase designed to keep audiences everywhere connected through top-quality live performance, even in lockdown. A range of opportunities to support Melbourne artists will also be announced in the coming week.
