Omega Ensemble presents Continuum which features two iconic works of the 20th century along with the world premiere of a new Australian piece.
Over 80 years since its dark premiere in a WWII concentration camp, Olivier Messiaen’s hauntingly beautiful Quartet for the End of Time remains one of the most significant works of the 20th century. The work’s themes of isolation, resilience and music as a universal language, remain captivating to audiences and relevant to current world circumstances.
Messiaen’s Quartet is presented in this moving sensory experience, with a world premiere from Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung composer Lou Bennett AM, and Arvo Pärt’s meditative Spiegel Im Spiegel.
Concerts in Sydney and Melbourne.
