Sydney Chamber Choir Sings Fauré’s Requiem

April 5 @ 5:00 pm

Sydney Chamber Choir celebrates the warmth and wonder of the choral sound with Gabriel Fauré’s sublime Requiem. Blending the pure lines of Gregorian chant with the elegance and intensity of his own melodic genius, wrapped in delicate yet sensually lush harmonies, Fauré re-invented the Requiem in the image of love. Under the direction of Sam Allchurch and with Thomas Wilson at the organ this is an this is an intimate musical afternoon that speaks straight to the heart with courage and honesty.

The choir will also sing Mendelssohn’s celebratory motet Jauchzet dem Herren (Praise the Lord) and two exquisite motets from Australian composer Brooke Shelley, Heavenly Father and Praise the Lord.
