Sydney Eisteddfod Announces Opera Scholarship Finalists For 2022

Eight gifted singers have emerged as finalists in the 2022 Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship Final. They are : Matthew Avery (Winmalee)/ Olivia Payne (Leichhardt)/ Jeremy Boulton (Wollongong)/Anna Stephens (Waterloo)/ Raphael Hudson (Arncliffe)/Karina Bailey (Sydney)/Nathan Bryon (Lane Cove West) and Kristin Astouroghlian (Endeavour Hills, VIC)

The 2022 Reserve Finalists are: Reserve Finalist 1: Clare Hood (Auckland, NZ)/ Reserve Finalist 2: Amelia Wawrzon (Moonee Ponds, VIC)

The finalists have been selected from 38 talented young classical singers from across Australia and New Zealand, who competed in the heats. Each finalist will compete for a total prize value of $61,000 to undertake further studies in Australia or overseas. The finalists will be accompanied by the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of the well-known conductor and Sydney Eisteddfod Ambassador Dr Nicolas Milton. The adjudicators judging this event are; Christine Douglas, Stuart Maunder AM and the guest adjudicator, Richard Mills.

The Sydney Eisteddfod 2022 Opera Scholarship Final will be held on Sunday 26 June at The Concourse Concert Hall, Chatswood at 2pm. Tickets.
