Sydney Youth Orchestras Big Busk 2023

The Sydney CBD will be ringing to the sounds of young buskers as Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) present Big Busk 2023 on 28 September with 600 talented musicians busking on the streets in a day of live music and community connection.

Big Busk 2023 is a celebration of the power of music to inspire, unite, and create positive change in our community.  The SYO invite everyone to join us in person or online in supporting the future of music and witnessing the incredible talents of our young musicians. The re will be live performances across Sydney, including the Pitt Street Mall, The QVB, Dixon Street Mall, Grosvenor Place, and even Parliament House. And if you can’t make it in person, there will be a livestream of studio performances too.

Before the main event, SYO’s Western Sydney Youth Orchestra will be warming up with an evening of music on Tuesday, September 26th, at Centenary Square in Parramatta starting at 6pm, playing  classics and  favourites, including the themes from Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train your Dragon and more.

Big Busk 2023 is all about helping SYO continue its mission of providing young musicians with training and performance opportunities. A non-profit charity in its 50th year, the SYO relies on support from the community  as it receives less than 7% of its budget in government funding.
