The Song Company’s Dances Of Passion
March 19, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The Song Company launches its 2021 season with Dances of Passion, an entertaining salon program which includes Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes and Granados’ Tonadillas en un Stile Antiguo.
A mix of outstanding voices, beautiful music and dazzling theatrical elements, Dances of Passion is directed by the legendary Australian soprano Taryn Fiebig and accompanied by The Song Company’s Artistic Director Antony Pitts and Associate Artistic Director Francis Greep. Dances of Passion features Principal Artist soprano Roberta Diamond with Ensemble Artists Janine Harris (mezzo-soprano), Ethan Taylor (tenor) and Hayden Barrington (baritone).
Together with quintessential 19th century romantic music of Brahms and the 20th century songs of Granados, inspired by the paintings of Goya – passionate and teasing, the concert also features Fables for a Prince by contemporary American composer Juliana Hall. Fables evokes images of a young prince taught his lessons by both animals and humans, learning right from wrong as he is primed to become king and protector of his people.
As well as its Sydney concert, Dances of Passion tours to Wollongong, Canberra and Newcastle.
