SUMMARY:IFAC Handa ASC Gala Finals Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Gala Finals Concert of the IFAC Handa Australian Singing Competition will feature five outstanding emerging singers who will compete for Australia’s most coveted award for opera and classical singing\, the Marianne Mathy Scholarship (‘The Mathy’) and an array of prizes\, scholarships and awards. \nThe finalists are sopranos Hannah Burton and Sky (Haneul) Kim\, both 25 from NSW\, soprano Emily Davis 24\, from WA\, bass Leyland Jones\, 23\, from Victoria and mezzo-soprano Aylish Ryan\, 23 from QLD. They will be adjudicated by a national panel led by Donna Balson. \nThe singers will perform with the Opera Australia Orchestra conducted by Dr Nicholas Milton\, AM. \nPrevious winners include Jessica Pratt\, Stuart Skelton\, Emma Pearson and Anna Dowsley. \nDoors open 6.30 pm. Concert begins 7 pm. \nBookings \n
