Felicity Tomkins Wins Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship 2024

Congratulations to soprano Felicity Tomkins, awarded first place in The Sydney Eisteddfod Opera Scholarship 2024, to Molly Ryan for second place, and to the outstanding finalists Ariana Ricci, Bronwyn Douglass and Ellena Hicks.

Congratulations also to Benjamin Burton, who was awarded Sydney Eisteddfod Associate Artist Award in memory of Megan Evans OAM which goes to an accompanist who has gone above and beyond during the 2024 Eisteddfod.

Each soloist was accompanied by the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dr Nicholas Milton. The finalists were adjudicated by leading industry practitioners, operatic baritone Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Australian conductor and chorus master Paul Fitzsimon and repetiteur and conductor for Victorian Opera Phoebe Briggs. The event was brilliantly led by MC Peter Coleman-Wright.
