Five World Premieres In Ensemble Offspring’s Kontiki Racket
Three concerts, five world premieres, a panel discussion with leading ‘global’ music makers and an industry speed dating session offering one-on-one sessions with mentors – all in one weekend!
Ensemble Offspring’s Kontiki Racket features thirteen musicians including its Hatched Academy artists, music by iconic composers Xenakis and Boulez and European sensations Romitelli and Mantovani.
Australian composers Alex Pozniak, Lachlan Skipworth and others will have their works premiered during this micro festival of new sounds form around the world.
The festival also features international guest, composer and sound artist, Juan Felipe Waller (Berlin/Mexico), whose 2014 Noisy Egg commission,Detone Retune, will be restaged.
Conducted by Roland Peelman, the performers include Claire Edwardes (percussion), Zubin Kanga (piano), Sonya Holowell (voice), Lamorna Nightingale (flute), Jason Noble (clarinet), Ngaire de Korte (oboe), Veronique Serret (violin), Blair Harris (cello), David Moran (cello, Hatched Academy performer), Mary Rapp (cello, Hatched Academy performer) and Julia Reidy (guitar/ Hatched Academy composer).
