The award of $25,000 is a travelling scholarship in memory of the late NSW Attorney General, Paul Landa, QC MP.<\/p>\n<p>Following the presentation of the award, Young Kwon Choi\u00a0performed a\u00a0recital of\u00a0Haydn&#8217;s <em>Sonata no 47 in B minor Hob XVI:32 <\/em>and in vivid contrast\u00a0<em>Gaspard de la Nuit<\/em> by Ravel in a distinctive statement of his versatility and ability.<\/p>\n<p>The Korean born Young Kwon Choi is\u00a0a\u00a0 graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he studied under Professor Ann Carr-Boyd and Dr Paul Rickard-Ford. He furthered hs studies in Graz, Austria and is presently completing postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy in London.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, in 2013,\u00a0Young Kwon Choi will be touring to France, Belgium, Denmark, Austria and South Korea.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pianist Young Kwon Choi has been awarded the 2012 biennial Albert Paul Landa Scholarship.
