Comprising some 12 talented string players,\u00a0Concertante Ensemble\u00a0<\/em>was formed in 1996 and will mesmerise you with their energetic\u00a0<\/span>performances.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The programme for this concert\u00a0includes works by Biber\u00a0(Battalia<\/em>), Jan\u00e1\u010dek\u00a0(Music for Club Swinging<\/em>) and Britten (Prelude and Fugue<\/em>).<\/span><\/p>\n

The ensemble is led by two busy violinist mums Susan Collins and Karina Hollandswh between them,\u00a0have six children.<\/p>\n

\n

This concert symbolises a battle on more than one front as\u00a0one of the musicians\u00a0faces the battle of a lifetime. The husband of lead second violin\u00a0Catrina Pelster, was diagnosed with cancer in early 2013. They have three children. A portion of the proceeds from this\u00a0<\/span>concert will go to this family.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Winner of the National Kendall Concerto Competition 2012, 20-year-old violinist James Dong, will perform Concerto in E Major BWV 1042<\/em> by\u00a0JS Bach. Dong is in his third year of a bachelor of music degree at Sydney Conservatorium, under the tutelage of Norwegian violinist Ole Bohn.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
