Resonance presents soprano Emilie Lemasson and pianist Chris Cartner in an extraordinary journey from the 19th Century drawing rooms of Schubert, Mendelssohn and Chopin to the great opera stages of Verdi and Puccini.<\/p>\n
Emilie Lemasson\u00a0was born in France, and\u00a0studied voice and piano, completing her tertiary studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music and a Diploma of Opera.\u00a0At the Conservatorium, she performed in productions of Mozarts’ Cosi fan Tutte<\/em> and Le<\/em> Nozze di Figaro <\/em>as well as Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream<\/em>, studying under Andrew Dalton and Sharolyn Kimmorley. She currently studies with Anthea Moller.\u200b<\/p>\n Emilie has been the recipient of several Helpmann awards at the Conservatorium and prizes from The City of Sydney Eisteddfod.\u00a0 Since last year, Emilie has been the principal soloist for \u201cVavachi\u201d and is looking forward to performing with them this year in Queensland and Melbourne after a successful concert series supporting Italian Tenor, Rocco Speranza.<\/p>\n As well\u00a0Emilie sings with the Joubert Singers with whom she has performed masses by Haydn and Diabelli in past years, and with whom she will be performing highlights of Verdi and Mozart masses\u00a0in June.<\/p>\n Chris Cartner was still a teenager when he was appointed Organ Scholar at Rochester Cathedral in the UK.\u00a0 He went on to graduate in classical piano performance at Trinity College of Music in London, before completing his training under\u00a0Professor Matthijs Verschoor at the Amsterdam Conservatoire in Holland.\u00a0 After a period as repetiteur with British Youth Opera, Chris became a much sought-after musician on the busy London circuit, embarking on a huge array of different musical projects.\u00a0He has worked as solo pianist, accompanist, chamber musician and musical director in various parts of the world, and in particular completed several hundred recital programmes in the British and Dutch capitals.\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n Since coming to Australia early in 2008, Chris has been increasingly involved in the arts industry in Sydney, working with most of the nation\u2019s major arts organisations.\u00a0 He is currently pianist with Opera Australia, Sydney Philharmonia and Sydney Chamber Choir amongst others, and has a busy diary of concert engagements.\u200b<\/p>\n The programme will include:<\/p>\n Programme to include:\u200b<\/p>\n
