His masterful use of\u00a0harmony\u00a0seamlessly combines mediaeval melodies with\u00a0modern aesthetics.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Georgia;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The <i><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\">Fantasia on Christmas Carols <\/span><\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\">by\u00a0R<\/span><\/span>alph Vaughan-Williams <span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\">(1872\u20131958),\u00a0contemporary of Britten, complements the\u00a0programme\u00a0along with some\u00a0miscellaneous traditional carols to\u00a0round out\u00a0the evening, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\"><span style=\"font-family: Constantia,Constantia;\">Alice Giles\u00a0is celebrated as one of the world\u2019s leading harp soloists. The Australian-born musician has been a guest artist at numerous festivals, and has performed extensively both in recital and with orchestras in Europe, America, Australia, and Israel.
