Selby & Friends will present a melody\u2010rich program of audience favourites in their upcoming fifth and final tour for 2014.<\/p>\n

This tour offers both popular\u00a0repertoire and stellar guest artists, violinist Elizabeth Layton, violist Tobias Breider, cellist Julian\u00a0Smiles and double bassist Hugh Kl\u00fcger. The tour promises to delight lovers of chamber \u00a0music.\u00a0Headlined by Schubert\u2019s beloved\u00a0Piano Quintet in A Major<\/em>, \u00a0otherwise known as \u2018The Trout\u2019, the programme also features Mozart\u2019s Piano Trio<\/em> No.1, \u2018Divertimento\u2019, in B flat major<\/em> and \u00a0Brahms’\u00a0Piano Quartet No.3, in C minor.<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n

For Selby & Friends founder, pianist and Artistic Director, Kathryn Selby, the tour offers a\u00a0mix of \u00a0intrigue, passion, memorable melodies and classic pop.\u00a0\u201cPresenting Schubert\u2019s Trout Quintet is always a thrill as it represents so much that is\u00a0beautiful about collaboration in chamber music. Performing this are four talented guests\u00a0and artists and friends,\u201d Selby said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Selby & Friends has established a reputation for its ensemble of guest artists from\u00a0around the globe and for offering\u00a0opportunities for new artists.\u00a0\u201cThis tour will again highlight our Development Artist program, and provide audiences with\u00a0a chance to \u00a0hear the virtuosity of Hugh Kl\u00fcger. It\u2019s an opportunity for music lovers to\u00a0discover new Australian talent. That development of new artistry is an \u00a0important part of\u00a0Selby & Friends\u201d.\u00a0Previous Selby Development Artists recipients Grace Clifford (violin) and Som Howie\u00a0(clarinet) have gone \u00a0on to noteworthy new endeavours.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The brainchild of Kathryn Selby, Selby & Friends, is now celebrating its eighth season. \u00a0<\/p>\n
