Image supplied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Direct from its acclaimed London season, Australian cinemas will screen the Royal\u00a0Opera\u2019s joyous production of Donizetti\u2019s sun-drenched <em>L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore<\/em> this February,\u00a0captured live in high-definition from a live performance during its third season on the Covent Garden stage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Set in the rustic countryside of Southern Italy, Laurent Pelly\u2019s production features an all-star cast including celebrated Welsh baritone Bryn Terfel as Dr Dulcamara, British soprano Lucy Crowe as Adina the most sophisticated lady in the village and Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo in the role of the love-struck Nemorino.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17985\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17985\" style=\"width: 215px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17985\" alt=\"L'elisir d'amore: Lucy Crowe as Adina and Bryn Terfel s Dulcamara. Image supplied.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The cinema screenings offer Sydney audiences a great opportunity to witness the incredible talent of Mr. Terfel, who will be visiting Australia this March to perform with the Perth Symphony in March and in Melbourne in Berlioz\u2019s <em>The \u00a0<\/em><em>Damnation of Faust,<\/em> in the role of M\u00e9phistoph\u00e9l\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<p><em>L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore <\/em>is a<em>\u00a0<\/em>romantic comedy which follows the story of Nemorino who turns to a love potion supplied from Dr Dulcamara\u2019s travelling truck of quacks to seduce Adina, who he loves from afar.\u00a0Nemorino\u2019s amorous intentions are rudely interrupted by another suitor, Sergeant \u00a0Belcore, until Adina realizes where her heart truly lies.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17986\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17986\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17986\" alt=\"Vittorio Grigolo as Nemorino and Lucy Crowe as Adina.
