The Willoughby Symphony\u2019s Myths and Legends <\/em>concert is an evocative program featuring the innovative works of 2015 Composer-in-Residence, Elena Kats-Chernin and guest soloist, Sydney cellist Ruben Palma, a finalist in the\u00a0\u00a02014 Australian Cello Awards.<\/p>\n

The programme\u00a0opens with Elena Kats-Chernin’s evocative Mythic<\/i>, a large-scale orchestral piece with a dark, meditative and romantic character.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Conducted by\u00a0Stephen Mould, the concert features cellist Ruben Palma performing Robert Schumann\u2019s glorious Cello Concerto<\/i>, followed by a performance of Beethoven\u2019s 8th Symphony<\/i>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The concert will also feature the world premiere of the 2015 Willoughby Symphony\/Fine Music 102.5 Young Composer Award.\u00a0<\/p>\n
