The Australian Haydn Ensemble presents soprano Celeste Lazarenko \u00a0in a concert of soprano solos directed by harpsichord virtuoso Dr Erin Helyard.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, due to illness, soprano Taryn Fiebig can no longer perform for the AHE’s\u00a0“Haydn & Hasse” tour in Canberra, Bowral and Sydney between the 24th – 27th of September.\u00a0Celesete and the ensemble will present a revised program of virtuosic Haydn arias.<\/p>\n

Australian soprano Celeste Lazarenko is a graduate of the Guildhall Opera Course, London, under vocal tuition of Rudolf Piernay and from the Sydney Conservatorium Opera School.\u00a0 She has a Master’s Degree in Performance from both colleges, and a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Painting from University of Sydney. Celeste has been the recipient of many prizes and awards including the Australian Music Foundation Award, The Marten Bequest and was a finalist in the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Competition 2005 at the Wigmore Hall, London.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Whilst at the Guildhall, Celeste appeared in numerous roles such as the Governess from Britten\u2019s Turn of the Screw,<\/em>\u00a0Barbarina in the English premiere of The Little Green Swallow<\/em> by Jonathan Dove, Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro<\/em>), Rosina (La Finta Semplice<\/em>) and Nanetta (Falstaff<\/em>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

While in London, Celeste worked with Glyndebourne Chorus and Opera North, the\u00a0English National Opera,\u00a0English Touring Opera and for East Sussex Opera Company.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her engagements on the continent included roles with Angers Nantes Opera and Opera de Rennes, Dijon Opera and Opera de Bauge.<\/p>\n

Since returning to Australia Celeste has performed Messiah<\/em> with Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Brahms\u2019 German Requiem<\/em> and ChorusOz for Sydney Philharmonia Choir, Pamina in Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em> for Pacific Opera, Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No 9<\/em> with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, Mendelssohn\u2019s St Paul<\/em> cantata, Verdi’s Requiem<\/em> and An Australian War Requiem<\/em> ( Bowen) with Sydney University Graduate Choir, recitals with ArtSong NSW, as well as excerpts from Pergolesi\u2019s Stabat Mater<\/em> for the Australian Ballet.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u00a0On the opera stage, she has sung Donna Anna in Don Giovanni<\/em> for Opera Australia\u2019s Ozopera tour, Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly<\/em> (Opera Australia\u2019s Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour), and T\u00e9la\u00efre in Castor et Pollux<\/em> (Rameau) and Medea in Giasone<\/em> (Cavalli), for Pinchgut Opera.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year she returns to both Opera Australia in the roles of Pamina and Second Lady in The Magic Flute<\/em> for Opera Australia\u2019s touring production and to Pinchgut Opera as Leonore in L\u2019amant jaloux<\/em> (Andr\u00e9 Gr\u00e9try).\u00a0<\/p>\n
