Hailed as the “maverick organist” by\u00a0The New York Times,<\/em> Cameron Carpenter is an artist whose lavish intelligence, showmanship and virtuosity are well matched to the grandiosity of the pipe organ.<\/p>\n

Determined to release the organ from its association with religion, the organist with \u00a0the\u00a0androgynous alter-ego named Shane Turquoise\u00a0returns to the Sydney Opera House this November to play a classic repertoire including the music of J S Bach on the House\u2019s Grand Organ, complemented by new and familiar repertoire featuring the Australian premiere of his portable International Touring Organ, a digital incarnation of the organ of old.<\/p>\n
