Sydney Harmony Chorus presents two performances of its much-loved annual Holiday Voices<\/em> concerts in December.<\/p>\n

Sydney Harmony Chorus opened its doors to new members in the lead-up to this concert – and new recruits are still welcome! – the popular all-male a cappella (unaccompanied) choir is preparing for the climax to its musical year with\u00a0special guest performers are Australia\u2019s young international stars, Blindside<\/em>! This quartet of singers aged 20-something, has just returned from the Barbershop Harmony Society\u2019s (BHS) International Convention in Pittsburgh where they claimed a 2015 International Collegiate Quartet Bronze Medal.<\/p>\n

Sydney Harmony is in its 16th<\/sup> year and the unique \u2018barbershop\u2019 style 4-part a cappella harmony is its stock\u2013in-trade. Currently 35-strong, the chorus performs regularly and competes nationally and internationally as part of a huge network of singers that is\u00a0growing in size and raising the bar for this style of music.<\/p>\n

Based in North Sydney but comprising members from all over Sydney, the group\u2019s singers are amateurs with good voices – men who enjoy singing and who are willing to learn. Under the guidance of their inspirational musical director Vicki Dwyer, Sydney Harmony have achieved impressive results including being judged small chorus champions at the 2014 Wellington, NZ Pan-Pacific contest and once again becoming chorus champions at this year\u2019s Barbershop Harmony Australia\u2019s (BHA) Eastern Region (NSW\/ACT) contest.<\/p>\n

As well as its own pieces which, as always include some entertaining choreography, \u00a0Sydney Harmony will be joined by the all-women\u2019s group Circular Keys<\/em> \u2013 and combine for a 90+ massed chorus performance. Also performing is\u00a0Alouette, the former National Silver Medallist Quartet.<\/p>\n
