Following their romancing of the voice in their recent Mozart Requiem programme, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra showcases some of its own players as soloists, going\u00a0back in time with Blazing Baroque.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Recently appointed concertmaster Shaun Lee-Chen will perform on the baroque violin,\u00a0with flautist\u00a0Melissa Farrow\u00a0and recorder player Mikaela Oberg featuring as soloists in the virtuosic concertos selected for this series. The programme includes several rarely heard pieces with two concertos each by Vivaldi and Telemann and works by Sammartini and Fasch which feature an unusual ensemble of instruments.<\/p>\n

The Brandenburg\u2019s Artistic Director and conductor, Paul Dyer AO,\u00a0is excited about turning the spotlight on musicians of his orchestra: \u201cI know that this concert series will be one of the concert highlights of 2016. We started the orchestra 26 years ago specifically to play this intense, dramatic and thrilling music on the instruments for which it was written.”<\/p>\n

“<\/strong>Blazing Baroque<\/em> will show that the modern Brandenburg musicians have their own edge and hunger which adds a whole new dimension to the sound and the experience in 2016.”<\/p>\n
