The Tallis Scholars<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Selected as one of the top 20 choirs in the world by Gramophone Magazine in 2011, the world-renowned British early music vocal ensemble, The Tallis Scholars will be touring Australia in October and November of this year.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1973, by Peter Phillips who continues to direct the ensemble, The Tallis Scholars have established themselves as one of the leading exponents of a capella Renaissance sacred music throughout the world. \u00a0They are lauded by audiences and critics for their sound, which best serves the Renaissance repertoire.<\/p>\n

The Tallis Scholars have performed in both sacred and secular venues, notably St Paul\u2019s Cathedral in London, the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican, which marked the final stage of the complete restoration of the Michelangelo frescoes and the Church of St Ignatius Loyola in a collaboration with Sir Paul McCartney as well as the National Gallery London where they appeared with Sting and Shakespeare\u2019s Globe Theatre.<\/p>\n

They have an extensive discography; in 2009, polymath Peter Phillips released his second book, The Things We Do\u00a0<\/em>commemorating the 30th anniversary of the founding of the ensemble.<\/p>\n

As well as performing in Sydney and other Australian state capital cities, The Tallis Scholars will be performing in Newcastle, NSW and in Canberra.<\/p>\n
