Los-Angeles based concert \u00a0pianist, \u00a0composer \u00a0and \u00a0TV Host \u00a0Van-\u00adAnh \u00a0 Nguyen \u00a0returns \u00a0to \u00a0Sydney \u00a0for \u00a0a one-off performance in \u00a0collaboration \u00a0with \u00a0her \u00a0family \u00a0and some \u00a0of \u00a0Sydney\u2019s \u00a0finest musicians. In this recital, Van-Anh will play Chopin’s Waltzes, opus 64,<\/em> along \u00a0with \u00a0her \u00a0coveted \u00a0classical \u00a0crossover \u00a0 arrangements \u00a0which \u00a0took her to \u00a0#1 \u00a0on \u00a0iTunes \u00a0Australia \u00a0earlier \u00a0this \u00a0year.<\/p>\n

The \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0family, \u00a0who \u00a0arrived \u00a0in \u00a0Australia \u00a0as \u00a0refugees \u00a0in \u00a01984 \u00a0are \u00a0all musicians \u00a0and \u00a0will \u00a0be \u00a0joining \u00a0Van-Anh in \u00a0concert. \u00a0Oanh \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0(mother\/soprano), \u00a0 Xuan\u2010Anh \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0(father\/classical \u00a0guitarist) \u00a0and \u00a0Viet\u00ad\u2010Anh \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0 (brother\/pianist) \u00a0will \u00a0collaborate \u00a0with \u00a0Van\u2010Anh \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0in \u00a0a \u00a0variety \u00a0of \u00a0classical \u00a0 works. \u00a0The \u00a0second \u00a0half \u00a0of the concert will \u00a0feature \u00a0Hanna \u00a0Oblikov \u00a0(cello), \u00a0Alex \u00a0Norton \u00a0(violin), \u00a0 Elsen \u00a0Price \u00a0(double \u00a0bass) and Mark Olsen (drums\/percussion) who will join Van-Anh in a variety of chamber works.<\/p>\n

Van\u2010Anh’s virtuosic playing and infectious personality draw her \u00a0audience \u00a0into \u00a0the \u00a0concert \u00a0 experience. She has \u00a0performed around the world in notable \u00a0venues \u00a0such \u00a0as \u00a0City \u00a0Recital \u00a0Hall \u00a0(Sydney, \u00a0Australia), \u00a0Sydney \u00a0Opera \u00a0 House, \u00a0Segerstrom \u00a0Center \u00a0Of \u00a0The \u00a0Arts \u00a0(California, \u00a0USA) and the Shanghai \u00a0Oriental \u00a0Arts \u00a0 Center \u00a0(China).<\/p>\n

The \u00a0Nguyen \u00a0Family \u00a0have \u00a0been \u00a0an \u00a0integral \u00a0part \u00a0of \u00a0the \u00a0Vietnamese \u00a0community \u00a0in \u00a0 Sydney. They, along with Van-Anh, have appeared in several features as refugee success \u00a0stories amongst Australian-\u00adborn \u00a0Vietnamese.<\/p>\n
