Dmitry Sinkovsky returns to Sydney to perform with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Russian virtuoso Dmitry Sinkovsky soon returns to Sydney to reprise his dazzling appearances with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra in 2014, when as guest director and soloist he performed a programme focussed on the music of Vivaldi.<\/p>\n

Now in 2017, as guest director and soloist on baroque violin, Sinkovsky will again tour with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra in Sydney and Melbourne, and make his debut in Brisbane. The concert will include Italian, German and French music by baroque masters Vivaldi, Locatelli, Telemann, Leclair and Aubert.<\/p>\n

Dmitry will perform on an exquisite Francesco Ruggeri violin made in Cremona in 1675, made available to him by the Netherlands-based Jumpstart Jr Foundation, which identifies the world\u2019s leading young and gifted musicians and provides them with precious gut-string period instruments crafted by the old masters.<\/p>\n

Also featured as soloists in the concert will be the Brandenburg’s natural horn specialists\u00a0Darryl Poulsen and Dor\u00e9e Dixon performing Vivaldi’s virtuosic Concerto for two horns RV 538.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dmitry was a star student of the Moscow Conservatory, alma mater<\/em> of many legends of Russian music, where Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich taught, and Rachmaninoff studied. Preparing for an international career on modern violin he changed focus in 2005 and pursued specialised early music training in Moscow, Montreal and Holland. Now he is a highly regarded laureate and prize winner in many European violin competitions including the prestigious Music Antiqua Competition in Bruges.<\/p>\n

Paul Dyer AO, Artisitic Director of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra who will direct the performance from the harpsichord says “In his generation of players, he is a leader and a trailblazer who is redefining the way in which baroque music is played. He\u2019s explosive and loves to take great risks, bringing to the stage incredible energy, charisma, virtuosity, musicality and showmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n
