Soprano Nadia Piave and Gino Pengue playing guitar,\u00a0cittern and guitarlele, present\u00a0I dreamed I saw\u00a0St Augustine…a concert for\u00a0Easter,\u00a0<\/em>a collection of chants, hymns\u00a0and chansons – music for reflection before Easter<\/p>\n Songs include\u00a0Petite Fleur,<\/em>\u00a0A flower is a lovesom thing,\u00a0 L<\/em>e jardin extraordinaire,\u00a0<\/em>I dreamed I saw St Augustine, A<\/em>gnus Dei (John Benet),<\/em>\u00a0Tu stella Mia,\u00a0<\/em>Loveliest of Trees,<\/em> Hard Rain,\u00a0<\/em>Be Thou My Vision,<\/em>\u00a0Simple Gifts,\u00a0<\/em>pange lingua (Thomas Aquinas),\u00a0<\/em>Pastorcito Santo<\/em> … and more.<\/em><\/p>\n Says Nadia, “In December last year I performed a Christmas concert\u00a0in the beautiful St Peter Chanel chapel\u00a0in Hunters Hill, and this reminded me Sydney boasts many such small churches and sacred spaces.\u00a0The\u00a0wonderful little sandstone church hall attached to\u00a0St Augustine’s Balmain is such a space and it\u00a0provides\u00a0a perfect architectural and acoustic backdrop for a concert of songs that, put simply,\u00a0I love, have provided solace and\u00a0have in the past\u00a0given me pause for reflection…what better time to share these songs than in the lead up to Easter.”<\/p>\n Nadia Piave is a Sydney\u00a0performer, teacher, choir mistress\u00a0and workshop leader.
