The Australian Chamber Choir is set to thrill audiences in Sydney and Melbourne this Christmas season with a program of Baroque \u2018hits\u2019 to bring seasonal joy to music lovers of all tastes.<\/p>\n

Performing a program of popular appeal for adults and children alike in the atmospheric locale and spectacular acoustic of St Mary\u2019s Cathedral Crypt, this program represents a \u201cpick of the pops\u201d by the Australian Chamber Choir\u2019s director, Douglas Lawrence.<\/p>\n

The program includes music by JS Bach (In dulci jubilo, Singet dem Herren, O Jesulein s\u00fcss<\/em>), Gabrieli, Praetorius, Sweelinck, Sch\u00fctz and Scheidt.<\/p>\n

Douglas Lawrence OAM, a world-class organist, established the ACC in 2007. In its young life, the choir has already toured Europe six times, giving some hundred concerts to sell-out audiences and winning critical acclaim. With a reputation for its \u201clucidly articulated\u201d performances of Bach\u2019s Motets, the choir has performed several times in Bach\u2019s church, St Thomas\u2019, Leipzig, including in the Bach Organ Festival. In 2015, it was hailed in the Danish press under the heading \u201cAustralian Choir in the Super League\u201d and recognized as an honorary life member of Denmark\u2019s oldest classical music festival, the Sor\u00f8 International.<\/p>\n

Members of the public are invited to travel with the Australian Chamber Choir on their seventh concert tour of Europe in 2019: St Martin-in-the-Fields London, Notre Dame Paris, Berlin Cathedral, Trinitatis Copenhagen. Guests will eat and drink with the singers, enjoy great music in fabulous buildings and have an altogether unique experience.<\/p>\n
