New York-based Australian pianist Lisa Moore occupies a niche as the \u2018queen of the avant-garde piano\u2019. She is \u2018a natural, compelling storyteller\u2019 (New York Times), and her recitals encompass the breadth of the repertoire from Beethoven to the bleeding edge, always finding surprising connections.<\/p>\n

In her upcoming Sydney recital, Lisa Moore plays the music of the Romantics old and new, Philip Glass, Jan\u00e1\u010dek. She finds parallels in music by Beethoven and Schumann, and Martin Bresnick\u2019s Ishi\u2019s Song<\/em> sets music and words by the last Yahi Indian \u2013 a poignant reminder of the fragility of our world and its peoples.<\/p>\n
