{"id":27050,"date":"2020-02-11T14:16:56","date_gmt":"2020-02-11T03:16:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/?p=27050"},"modified":"2020-02-11T14:16:56","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T03:16:56","slug":"beethoven-celebrations-begin-with-australian-chamber-orchestras-beethoven-1-2-and-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/beethoven-celebrations-begin-with-australian-chamber-orchestras-beethoven-1-2-and-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Beethoven Celebrations Begin With Australian Chamber Orchestra&#8217;s Beethoven 1, 2 and 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_27053\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-27053\" style=\"width: 178px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27053\" src=\"https:\/\/soundslikesydney.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/nTWeFtCQ.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"178\" height=\"178\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-27053\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Richard Tognetti<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In 2020 the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) will celebrate 250 years since the birth of the great Ludwig van Beethoven kicking off the year with the rare opportunity to hear the first three of Beethoven\u2019s symphonies together in full, including the magnificent \u2018Eroica\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Directed from the violin by Richard Tognetti, who simultaneously celebrates 30 years as Artistic Director of this celebrated ensemble, the core 17-piece ACO will be joined onstage by the extraordinary string students of the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) and wind and brass musicians from around the world to expand in size to over 50 players.<\/p>\n<p>Beethoven has endured for centuries as one of the most popular and beloved composers around the world, with his music found everywhere from concert halls, to film soundtracks, to disco-era chart-toppers. He was a true musical revolutionary and is credited with paving the transition between the Classical and Romantic eras.<\/p>\n<p>Beethoven\u2019s effervescent <em>Symphony No.1<\/em> and spirited <em>Symphony No.2<\/em> open the program before his third, and arguably most electrifying, symphonic achievement: the <em>\u2018Eroica\u2019<\/em>. Initially dedicated to Napoleon in celebration of his heroism and grandeur, Beethoven famously scratched out the written dedication in fury upon hearing of Napoleon\u2019s plans to declare himself emperor.
