Joseph Tawadros and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra release a new album, Live at the Sydney Opera House,\u00a0<\/em>on ABC Classic tomorrow, June 12.<\/p>\n Recorded in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, Joseph Tawadros performs with James Tawadros playing Egyptian percussion and Benjamin Northey conducting the entire ensemble. The album features the world premiere of Tawadros\u2019 own Concerto for Oud<\/em> and Orchestra<\/em> alongside works from throughout his career. It is also Tawadros’ first album with a full symphony orchestra, intersecting east and west, tradition and innovation and showcasing the extraordinary textures of the oud against the rich and complex textures of the orchestra\u2019s diverse sounds.<\/p>\n Oud virtuoso Tawadros is a composer, improviser and storyteller, who has won four ARIA Awards with 12 further nominations, reflecting a fascinating and wide-ranging career.
